Driving.ca has compiled a list of the top driving distractions as a reminder to drivers on what to avoid or be aware of while driving:

• Using a cell phone - talking and texting
• Eating and drinking
• Leaning/reaching/adjusting vehicle controls
• Grooming - shaving and applying makeup
• Weather conditions
• Reading/writing - including directions
• Outside distractions, including advertising, movies in other vehicles, people and other accidents
• Passenger distractions, such as children excited about their first day of school
• Smoking
• Driver fatigue
• Insect, animal or object entering or striking a vehicle
• Taking your emotions to the road, being upset, angry or stressed
