LIST OF TOP DRIVING DISTRACTIONS
Driving.ca has compiled a list of the top driving distractions as a reminder to drivers on what to avoid or be aware of while driving:
- Using a cell phone - talking and texting
- Eating and drinking
- Leaning/reaching/adjusting vehicle controls
- Grooming - shaving and applying makeup
- Weather conditions
- Reading/writing - including directions
- Outside distractions, including advertising, movies in other vehicles, people and other accidents
- Passenger distractions, such as children excited about their first day of school
- Smoking
- Driver fatigue
- Insect, animal or object entering or striking a vehicle
- Taking your emotions to the road, being upset, angry or stressed
